My name is Jay McElrath, and I’m proud to own Caring Transitions of Macon, GA, serving Macon, Gray, Bolingbroke, and nearby communities. Born and raised in Macon, I’ve spent most of my life here and care deeply about the people in this area. My background includes 20 years in the mortgage industry, where I helped families navigate the home financing process, followed by several years managing operations for a local business. These roles strengthened my skills in organization, client service, and community engagement.

In 2023, after stepping away from work to care for my mother during her final year with ALS, I personally handled the overwhelming task of sorting and liquidating her estate. My mother was the longtime owner of The Village Shop, a well-known antique store in Macon. That experience opened my eyes to how complex and emotional life transitions can be, and how helpful it would have been to have a service like Caring Transitions.

That journey is what led me here. I knew this was a much-needed resource for families in our community, and I’m honored to be the one to provide it. Caring Transitions offers full-service support for seniors and their loved ones during relocations, downsizing, and estate clearouts, helping reduce stress during life’s toughest moments.

I’m fortunate to be joined in this business by my girlfriend, Leslie Vito, who brings expertise in customer service, marketing, and education. Together, we are committed to offering trusted, compassionate support to those who need it most in Macon and beyond.
